“The
client had an accounting firm representing them who was a reseller of MAS
90. After a rigorous comparison they chose TOM Software’s System V and
The Priority Group because they offered a fully customizable product to
meet their needs and because this was their specialty. He believed it was
simply a better product.”

THE
CHALLENGE |
Taylor Made Farms
in Nicholsville, KY is a thoroughbred horse farm who was looking for
a software solution to meet the specific needs of their business.
They "could not stand" their old system and were looking
for a Windows product as a replacement. A standard, drop-in option
would not work for them, they needed an industry specific product or
a system that could be customized to meet their needs.
Bells and whistles
may look nice and win over some people, but they needed a system
that would work for them and the TOM System offered both. It had to
function within the framework of their farm and be from a provider
who knew the demands of their business. Each horse was kept track of
individually, almost like a client or a project. They needed to know
veterinarian records, insurance, transportation, and any other
aspect of the horse's history. They needed access to this
information as well as the inflows/outflows of a particular horse at
any time.
Many software
solutions were presented to the owners as they looked for the best
fit. For help and
guidance they turned to a local accountant to give them advice and
suggestions for the new purchase.
The accountant actually used MAS 90, making the product an
immediate candidate. For other options the farm used the services of CPA Online.
One of those accepting the lead from CPA Online was The
Priority Group, a partner of TOM Software.
The Priority
Group had the advantage in many ways.
The first advantage was the speed of the software.
The farm quickly discovered that the product was a windows
product, and the version they wanted didn’t have the graphic
displays that slowed down the software.
While the mouse is nice, products that depend on the mouse
can become cumbersome if the data entry clerk has to move and click
their way around the screen. The
TOM System offered both. And while the product’s functionality
came to the fore, so did The Priority Group’s knowledge of the
horse industry.
It is product and industry experience that TOM Software
dealers truly can have an advantage over the competition.
The Priority Group had this advantage and blew the
competition away. As
the competition moves more and more toward drop-in solutions, the
end users have less and less say about how their system will be
designed. The ability
to customize and dealer knowledge in specific areas makes TOM
Software a powerful option in today’s marketplace. |
