Coding is complete and testing is under way.  System 7 is designed around the new features in SPEED for Windows.  All of the new features will also work in text mode for those who prefer it or who are running serial (dumb) terminals, but it does require at least SPEED 5.x and KCML6.

Enhanced General Ledger

We took several features from the very complex System 6 GL and added them to System 7.  This results in greater capability, but not the overly complex burden of multi currency in System 6.  All of the amount fields have been moved out of the Chart of Accounts file into a permanent history file.  This and the new batch posting allows many people to work with the GL transactions independently of one another.  We have added thirteen period accounting and now allow you to keep any subsidiary modules ahead for two months of the GL.

Batch Posting

All transactions in the system now require a batch number and are accumulated and processes within that batch.  Batches may be posted independently and at the same time, system wide without interfering with any other work.

Drill Downs

Drill down indexing and the new threading techniques allow you to go from a GL posting back through the accounting records to it's source transaction in any subsidiary module.  An example is demonstrated in the PowerPoint Attachment  Application Drill Down

New Inquiries

All of the inquiry programs have been re written taking advantage of Windows scroll bars and many offer the ability to click on a record to drill back through history to the original transaction.

For more information see the PowerPoint slide show Application Drill Down or  Contact us.  Also be sure to check out the product section or take a demo of the new GUI SPEED release.

System7 demo

We encourage you to check this out!  Download the KClient and run the demo. It's a real SPEED session, running a real system on the TOM web server.  Click here to go to the System7 Demo page or the System7 General Business Demo page.
