Seattle, Washington. September
13-16, 2000
Without doubt the TOM Software conference 2000 was a great
success. TOM Software made great progress since the September 98
conference. Here is what we covered.
On Wednesday, we held a workshop on FourD, NPL &
KCML This was designed for partners who needed a FourD brush up and an
opportunity to ask our experts any perplexing questions. We thrilled to
find a very strong attendance.
On Thursday September 14th, we focused on Utility Topics
like FourD 3.2, Threading and ODBC. TOM is also planning on a special
version called FourD 3.3 Big. This has been designed for companies
that need more user rights, somewhere in the area of 5000 plus, however, the
Four D 4 for Windows Introduction Demo received the most attention. It
seemed the conference attendees where restless about discussion over the new GUI
which can be seen by clicking GUI. We finished off the day with some
Partner Vertical Demos.
On Friday we focused on Application Topics like the System
V New Master, Invoice History, Threading, and Recurring Invoices, which
were all received very well. System 6 with the new GL Enhancement,
and Foreign Currency was a hit with many as this is clearly the ideal
solution of international companies. Also covered were future enhancements
like Job Costing and New Posting.
K-Print was also a hit as the need of this product in the
marketplace is so obivious as well as the new Client Server & Internet
Connectivity E-Commerce Module. TOM had also managed to create new Windows
Help Files and demo their new product called the Office Manager A new Internet
based application.
Saturday, featured an exciting new collection marketing
materials made available by TOM for the Partners to use with clients, all of
which should be available soon on the web too. The Roundtable Discussion
was a chance for partners to add any bits about the conference they felt had
been missed as well as cover subject like Pricing and Future Development
Projects.
